The Ring King

A couple of days ago I was vacuuming in our bedroom and I pulled the dresser away from the wall to get behind it. When I pulled it out, I noticed my engagement ring on the floor. I picked it up and looked on the dresser for my wedding ring but I didn't see it.

I didn't worry too much about it for two reasons: I knew that I had worn it the day before and recently our cat Lilly has been sleeping on top of the dresser. I figured she knocked the ring off and maybe it bounced off something.

Since it was kind of hectic in the house right then, I decided to wait until Mike came home to finish looking for it. Obviously, since I had worn it earlier it had to be in the house and it probably hadn't gone far since the cat had knocked it off, right??

Well, Mike and I looked for it and couldn't find it. We didn't look too hard but I kept thinking that at some point we would just move all the furniture in our room and it would show up. We have all hardwoods so it would be easy to see.

Well, yesterday morning Mike got the kids up and took them out for a morning walk while I slept in (I know, he's amazing). When they came back Clay did his cleaning ritual on his car.

While he was cleaning he opened up the hatch to reveal what can only be described as a two-year-old treasure trove. We had no idea he had ANYTHING in the hatch of the car much less that he was collecting things from all over the house.

You will notice: a Thomas train, a wooden giraffe puzzle piece, a cleaning spray bottle (Clay's personal one), four map pencils and drumroll, please...

My wedding ring! That little sneak had taken my wedding ring and put it in his treasure trove!

Now someone needs to tell him that that is MY treasure! The funny thing is, I had never even considered that Clay might have taken it. That little man is getting the shake down next time something around here disappears!
